HRPO coil full form is Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled Coil. In coil form, HRPO goes through the same process as HRPO sheet — but stays in coil format for continuous processing lines. The coil is unwound, passed through a continuous acid pickling line (CPL) to remove mill scale, rinsed, dried, and immediately oiled for rust protection before being recoiled. HRPO coils are the preferred input material for tube and pipe mills (ERW), roll-forming lines for sections and profiles, progressive die stamping for automotive and appliance parts, and slitting into narrow strips. The key advantage over HR black coil in these applications is that no inline descaling equipment is required — HRPO feeds clean into the forming machine, improving tooling life, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality of the finished product.
